INFORMATION SERVICES
Information Services has the responsibility of managing the District help desk, microcomputers, administrative information systems, the district-wide telephone system and the data network backbone. Information Services is located on the Riverside Campus in the Student Services building. The help desk telephone number is 222-8388.
Services Offered to Faculty
Internet and Email Assignments - Information Services assigns e-mail addresses to all faculty upon receiving a new employee set-up form from Human Resources. Instructions on how to access email for full-time faculty are sent via RCC interoffice mail to the department they assigned to. Instructions for adjunct faculty are mailed to their home residences. The District also provides network connectivity (Internet access). Cabling and PC installed network interface cards are prerequisites for this service in District buildings. Telephone Service - All adds, moves, and changes to the District telephone system are handled through Information Services. The Instructional Department Specialist will submit a work order for the requested changes through FootPrints. Note: All telephone and voicemail requests for the Norco campus should be coordinated through Debra Creswell and for the Moreno Valley campus through Liz Romero. Voice Mail - All full-time and adjunct faculty may have voice mailboxes established for their use. Messages may be retrieved from either on- or off-campus locations. Personal greetings may be recorded. Faculty members may request a voicemail box through their Instructional Department Specialist. The IDS will then submit a work order to the help desk. Information Services will send the voicemail assignments and instructions to the IDS for distribution. Note: Adjunct faculty mailboxes are only valid for the term in which instruction takes place. Mailboxes are subject to cancellation if the part-time faculty is not teaching. Information Services
Microcomputer Support - The Microcomputer Support Staff has the
responsibility of managing the administrative and academic computers for
the District. The District help desk is available to assist all RCCD faculty
with issues related to Windows and Macintosh desktop and portable computer
systems. Microcomputer Support is located on the Riverside Campus in the
Business Education building - room 110. Wireless Access - Faculty can obtain access to the District wireless network by completing a wireless registration application at the following URL: http://www.rcc.edu/administration/InformationServices/WirelessApplication.cfm WebAdvisor Login Assistance - WebAdvisor is available for faculty to obtain class rosters, census rosters, lab attendance rosters, grade & positive attendance rosters and other miscellaneous forms and inquiries. The help desk can provide login assistance to faculty. FootPrints - FootPrints is the software used to submit requests to the help desk, facilities, printing & graphics, for van reservations and warehouse requisitions. You can obtain a FootPrints account by contacting the help desk. Student Labels - Information Services provides student name and address labels which can be made any time throughout the term by submitting a request through FootPrints or contacting your Instructional Department Specialist.
