HEALTH SERVICES Health Services offices are located on each campus. Services include emergency care, first aid, health counseling, mental health counseling, health education, care for common health problems, evaluation and treatment by physicians, nurse practitioners, marriage and family counselors, and/or referral to appropriate agencies and professionals in the community. Limited medical insurance is available against accidental injury while in class or while participating in a college sponsored event. All campus accidents should be reported immediately to the Health Services office. Voluntary, low cost medical and dental insurance is also available and may be purchased during the first month of the semester. Brochures for both insurance plans are available in the Health Services office. Medical records and all discussions with Health Services staff are completely confidential. Students in psychological crisis may be referred, or you may request escort for the student from Health Services or the campus police in order for the student to get immediate help. Fall and Spring Office Hours
Summer hours and services may vary. All student and employee injuries should be reported as soon as possible. Health Services is supported by student health fees, and employees are encouraged to contact their own physicians for non-work related injuries and non-emergency conditions. Call 222-8150 for more information. Tuberculosis Skin Test - All employees must have a Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) at least once every four years. Report of the skin test shall be submitted to the Human Resources office. An employee shall be placed on compulsory leave of absence without pay if this requirement is not met. All new employees are required to have the TB skin test taken at the time of the physical examination for employment or within 60 days prior to the date of that examination. Evidence of a negative intradermal TST meets this requirement. If the tuberculosis skin test is positive, the employee will be referred for a chest x-ray and follow up with the college Physician or Nurse Practitioner.
