Parking Guidelines -
Staff parking areas are designated on campus maps and are also designated
at each college campus by yellow curb markings or "Staff Parking"
signs. Staff may also park in student lots.
Parking Permits
- Permits are required on
all District property, including campus streets, Monday through Thursday,
from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00am.- 5:00pm. RCC
enforces all other rules of the California vehicle code (i.e.,
posted time zones, red curbs, handicap spaces, parked outside marked
stall, expired registration, etc.) 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
No Riverside Community College permits are required at high
school sites or other satellite locations. However, these satellite
sites may require their own parking permits. Local authorities may
ticket cars parked in fire hazard lanes, bus zones, handicapped zones,
no parking zones, etc.
- Parking permits allow
staff to park on District property. They do not guarantee a space
and the inability to locate a parking space is not considered a valid
justification for the violation of District parking regulations.
Temporary Permit -
It is common for students and staff to temporarily change vehicles and
forget their parking permit as a result. If this happens, stop by the
College Safety and Police office and a temporary parking permit will
be issued after verification that you have purchased a permit.
Lost/Stolen Permit
- Parking permits are personal property just like books, calculators
and jewelry. To replace a lost permit, you will have to purchase another
one. As for stolen permits, if you are the victim of a theft, you should
report it to the College Police. A report will be taken and after verification
by Auxiliary Business Services, they will replace it.
Motorcycles - You
must buy a parking permit if you plan to park a motorcycle on campus.
Motorcycles are restricted to parking within designated spaces set aside
for motorcycles.
Handicap Parking -
In addition to having a validated placard properly displayed or a license
plate which signifies that you are disabled, your vehicle must display
a current parking permit.
Permit Fees - The
fee is $40.00 per semester for both day and evening. Motorcycle permits
are $10.00 per semester. Staff permits for the summer session are $20.00;
motorcycle permits are $5.00 for the summer session. Permit fees are
subject to change. These fees also apply to handicapped parking.
